1530 South Gordon is 2 wks away from being ready!
Trim, cleaning, carpet and the deck are left to be added.
I like the product. The team has done a great job making this home flow, feeling both modern but keeping timeless classic details. I must admit, I had doubts and did not have vision. I thought the house would just feel old and in need of too much work to make it a home.
I was proven wrong.
This is one that will sell itself-I’m sure we have buyers waiting to make Westview their home.
Here are a few pictures….What do you think?
I’ve been watching the transformation of this beautiful home for a few weeks. It’s hard to believe this is also a home I put a bid on- and was disappointed to lose. I KNEW this would be a great deal for anyone looking in-town near the Beltline, and hoped I would have the opportunity to be apart of making someones dream come true.
From the time you step foot on the stairs to the grand entry, you know you’re in for a treat. The spacious front porch is ready to be filled with welcoming plants and to fall in line with neighboring homes. You are greeted by a solid wood door which opens to gleaming hardwoods. Straight ahead behind a French door is a hall leading to Master suite, secondary bedrooms and baths. To your left is a bright secondary room- most in our community are using this room as an office space or guest room (when needed)- some, are using this room as a “den”-(not wanting to take any attention away from their fireplace or built-in bookcase in the main livingroom.) Mines is a “catch-all” room…but it did begin as an office. To your right are beautiful picture windows facing both the front of the home and above the built-in bookcase, the side of the home. A large masonry fireplace stands demanding “center-stage” attention in-between two built-in’s. Imagine and hear the crackle of pine come winter. A second set of French doors open into a very spacious dining room- large enough to seat 12 or host a number of people for cocktails! The dining-room continues with gleaming hardwoods, picture moulding, ceiling fan, and built-ins for additional storage. My favorite is the butlers swing door opening to a Butlers Pantry and Kitchen. Who will send time in the kitchen of such a lovely home??– Well, I would- being that I have THREE kids…and what a kitchen? Lovely granite counters, ample wood cabinets and walk-in pantry ensures cooking for my rowdy crowd is a breeze..
A spacious laundry/mud room is right off the back deck and kitchen. The deck is the width of the home and is enclosed within a private backyard. I’m a bit jealous of the neighbors garden-but I’m sure the new owners of 1455 Lucile will NOT be like me, and this home will have a garden to admire too.
Heading back into the house through the kitchen, cutting through the dining room into the hall you can turn right and head back to the “Master suite”. A great retreat!! There are two walls of windows to receive great morning sun(this will help you wake up and make the most of your day), TWO closets- one walk-in (must be HERS) 🙂 a little sitting/dressing area and an enormous bathroom (the size of my sons nursery space). The master bath has double vanities and a beautiful claw foot soaking tub! I would never leave my room…. But, when you do- you can head downstairs to the daylight finished basement. The daylight basement has TWO additional rooms, plus a full bath. Make one a guest suite and the other an exercise or media space. I would certainly make use of an exercise room on concert floors because my treadmill is killing my hardwoods.

The New Orleans home that was used in the filming of much of “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is for sale.
The film is a cinematic version of a 1921 short story of the same name written by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who grows younger rather than older. The story opens in a New Orleans home geared for older adults. The film has been nominated for 13 Oscars.
“The 7,800-square-foot Garden District mansion featured in the film is much nicer than what people saw in the movie,” says Dorian Bennett, who listed the house on behalf of his firm Dorian Bennett Sotheby’s International Realty. “It’s more like Tara than a home for old people.”
The house, which has six bedrooms and bathrooms, a library and a reception hall, is priced at $2.85 million and is on the market to settle the estate of the late owner.
