Have you heard of Midwest Cascade?

Most will know it just as  “Cascade”  or “New Hope Road area”- maybe even “Niskey Lake area”..but this is Midwest Cascade. Midwest Cascade is located south of Cascade Road, along Regency Center Drive

The Atlanta City Council voted to annex Midwest Cascade to the City of Atlanta on September 29, 2006. See HERE . This area is said to be the fastest growing NPU(NPU-Q) from 2000-2010, I’m sure most of the growth was during the housing boom in the early years of 2000 as much of the new construction was during this time and started to top off in 2006.

What’ the housing stock in this area? Varied, from newer (now old) McMansions to brick ranch homes on the lake!  This area is a nice surprise in Cascade, few know about it and once shown,  you’ll consider buying here! Many of the new subdivision are gated- which provides much privacy for the owners but not a lot of sight-seeing for those who love practicing  HGTV’s House Hunters. Even the foreclosures maybe hard to get into, without a code (and pre-qual) many agents will pass.  These communities seem to remain privy to the “who you know”  BUT beautiful Niskey Lake is open for all to tour, explore and hold-on-to-your-seat as you turn the sharp curves towards the lake.  Unfortunately, it’s been my experience that may of these homes on the lake seem to have water issues in their basements…I’m not sure if it’s water from the lake, due to poor development or age.  Nonetheless, if you can repair- you will be very proud when giving directions to your house-warming!

Salt Water Pool??

I have always wanted a pool. I don’t know why, because I can’t swim. Maybe being land locked in Atlanta is getting to me. I’m a New Yorker- I went to the beach EVERY summer, it was effortless. I went to Coney Island once a week to eat at Nathans and walk in the sand.  Now, I have to PLAN trips which as caused me not to go as often.

Imagine my excitement when I obtained my first listing with a pool! I honestly wish I could buy his home myself. -THAT’S HOW EXCITED I AM, when my husband tried to burst my bubble by asking “how will you maintain it”.

He is such a kill joy at times, but it did cause me to do some online research. Here is a site on Youtube that has tons of information on how to care for a pool. It’s easier than you may think if you inherit one that has already been well maintained.

Jefferson Park beauty! When will they be ready to sell?

A friend in Jefferson Park, East Point has been teasing me on again, off again regarding the sale of her home, as she contemplates retiring from the Real Estate rehab industry and on to a less stressful career as an educator (lol)….

What she and her husband has done to this home is  unbelievable and unexpected. This brick home boasts more than a double lot, but many hidden gems on a sought after street.

I have always wanted to list this home and until they’re ready, I’ll share a few pics with you..

Did we sleep on Washington Park???

I know I did! I have taken a tour through the community a few weeks ago and was very impressed by what I saw. The leadership within the association, and residents are a force making positive changes and a noticeable impact.

NPU-T held their executive committee meeting yesterday. The meeting was hosted by Booker T. Washington Community Association and the venue selected was the Washington Park Natatorium (102 Ollie Street NW Atlanta, GA 30314)
I must say, almost embarrassingly, I have never been to their Natatorium. The Natatorium was created 4year ago, and it’s AMAZING! They hold night swimming lessons in two gigantic heated lap pools. The facility is huge-CLEAN and inviting! I’m sorry I didn’t take advantage of the offer to swim before the meeting began- but I’ll be back. I plan to get a family membership! My girls will LOVE year round swimming in such a beautiful facility, with nice art work! Take a look- I know, my pictures are horrible-lol hey, I’m a Realtor, not a Photographer:
